This wheel-thrown mug is crafted from a red grogged stoneware clay, giving the surface a warm, earthy texture. The exterior is left unglazed to highlight the raw character of the clay, while the inside is finished in a deep green glaze for a rich contrast. During the firing, the outside naturally darkened in certain areas, a variation that makes each mug completely unique, and one of my favorite parts of the process. Fired twice, up to 1220 °C, ensuring strength and durability.
As each mug is individually crafted, slight variations in tone, texture, and detail may occur — a reflection of the handmade process that makes every piece unique.
